I compared this with the TZ20. I found this is better because it takes clearer shots in direct comparison being more balanced + gives a more desirable skin tone. One thing i like over the tz 20 is the abilty to have the flash on or of manually in auto. The tz 20 throws? the flash more than needed washing out indoor pictures. the flash on this is out of fingers way and helps reduce red eye unlike the awkward position on tz20. Battery life is better in s9100.
You said 16MP? is bad, I am planning on buying the Nikon Coolpix S9200 rather than this one, which one shall I buy ?

Yea It took a while for me to get used to it but the camera turned out great for me. You can see my videos of it… It might? be becasue I already droped the camera but when it is on Full time auto focous it gets shaky, blurry, and noisy. Not really a prob because I can just put it in Single and it works fine.
Oh, and they all? have some pretty remarkable settings that when used right, give you amazing picture quality, for the person who likes to shoot with custom settings
The S8100 is a highspeed camera(has a CMOS sensor, *no* touchscreen like other models, and can record? at 240FPS, 120FPS, 60FPS, and 15FPS fastmotion) I have one :D they’re lovely!
The S8200 is an ordinary point and shoot(A.F.A.I.K. it has a max shutter time of 4 seconds and a minimum of 1/4000s)
The S9100 is highspeed camera also :) but the technology and sensor that is used in it give it more colors, and sometimes more vibrance overall if you know how to use this camera.

Well I’m excited the camera sounds pretty good.? I’m getting mine this 18th. Good thing you told me I don’t need to go out and buy a larger memory cars bc I was about to ge the 32 or 64 gb. How bad does it shake when you zoom in?
also I had said that it only takes like 30 min of video on a 16 gig card, I was way off. It takes 30 min clips? so 16 gig should be sufficient.
The quality of the photos I have taken are great, especially in low light situations. The optical zoom is? one reason I got this camera, but let me tell ya the digital zoom on this thing is amazing. I took some pictures of the moon zoomed in all the way optically and they quality was great. I then zoomed in to the fullest with the digital zoom and the detail was out of this world for a camera in this price range.The battery life is good video kills it pretty quick though.

Its a great camera . Not perfect but very good. It can be? difficult to get good clear shots at the long end of the zoom due to motion blur

About half of reviews anywhere? critisized this camera for being blurry and I was hoping that they were just a bunch of photographer perfectionists. I’m not a professional or anything just want good quality photos/videos, especially outdoors. How long is your battery life?
well I haven’t had much time to put it through its paces, but I am very pleased so far. I did have a few pictures come out slightly blurry, but that was operator error i’m sure. Any camera can produce a blurry photo so the people bashing on this model may have just not learned to use it properly. All in all its totally worth the price. A tripod is my next purchase, even? with good ISO it gets a bit shaky at full zoom.
Yea if 16 gigs only gets you 30 mins of 1080p then I am going to? need way more. How is the quality? I hear it blurs alot and you can only use a fraction of the pic’s you actually took.
just got? my camera today and love it. You and def going to want a big memory card. I have a 16 gig and it only records like 30 min of 1080 video. Great camera though for a great price.

It will shoot video as long as you have free memory. So this depends on how large your memory card is. Probably going to want a 16 gig card? or higher.
Superior protection for compact cameras,
Please take a look at images I uploaded to the product page on this well-made case that offers superior protection against bumps and drops. This case will accommodate cameras measuring (L)3 5/8 by (H)2 1/2 by (D)1 1/8 inches in dimensions. The best design – full length zipper opening with elastic hinge supports (so that the two halves won’t open too wide when you unzip the case).
The camera should be inserted into the case with its LCD screen facing the plush fabric surface half. The front of the camera will then face the other half of the case that has the super-tough EVA shell to protect against crush and drop.
I STRONGLY suggest that you tether the wrist strap of the camera to the ringlet on the case, so that they are always together. When taking pictures, while holding the camera with your right hand, you should hold the case with your left hand. If someone accidentally bumps into you and causes you to drop the camera, it won’t fall to the ground because the case is tied to the camera. I had saved my camera from destruction numerous times this way.
I like this case very much because it offers great protection without the bulk of other cases. If your camera is the same or smaller than the aforementioned dimensions, this is an excellent case to consider.

|Misleading Dimensions,
We ordered this case with the intention to use it with my HTC HD2 phone, paying special attention to the dimensions advertised in the product description, which would have certainly accommodated my phone. We discovered when the product arrived that the actual product dimensions are dramatically smaller: (internal) 4.25 inches x 3.25 inches. Possibly 1/4 inch could be squeaked out of this case in length and width if one is willing to stress the zipper. It turns out that the dimensions given were including the cardboard packaging attached with the product.
Apart from this very frustrating point, the case itself is remarkable. We own several cases from Case Logic, and we are very happy with the lot of them. This particular case would exceed our expectations in many regards. The main compartment is lined on the belt-clip side with a material that is very soft and it resembles fleece (though I assume it is a material which does not build up a charge). It should be noted that the belt-clip side is not rigid.
The opposing side of the case is pretty rigid, comparable to a guitar case which would come with a typical acoustic guitar. It could accurately be described as semi-rigid: it is flexible enough to endure wearing on a belt, while also being stiff enough to offer protection against bumping at speeds and force typical of the average person’s gait. This feature is further strengthened by the (canvas-like) polyester exterior, which also features a fixed strap that is identical to that which one will find used for a seat belt in any modern passenger vehicle. The detail absolutely helps improve the overall strength and durability of this case.
If only the advertised dimensions had been accurately portrayed, I would have been extremely happy with this product.
